Breaking Halibut News

By Greg Kain, Kain’s Fishing Adventures.

Last week in Anchorage the NPFMC (North Pacific Fishery Management Council) meet to talk about Halibut regulations for the 2012 season. The NPFMC passed a motion with recommendations to the IPHC (International Pacific Halibut Commission). The IPHC will meet in Anchorage in late January to finalize the regulations.

Recommended regulations for non-resident anglers are:

One fish per day – either under 45 inches or over 68 inches.

This is great news and big improvement from last seasons regulations. I am thrilled and happy to be moving in the right direction. We will keep following things as they progress and keep you informed. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Tight lines!
